Vivaces, geófitas y arbustos nativos vuelven a florecer

Con la lluvia han vuelto a emerger vivaces y geófitas nativas de La Aurora de vistosa floración, así como helechos y arbustos nativos cubriendo con flores amplios sectores visibles desde lejos, especialmente en terrenos soleados y de exposición norte. Destacan el blanco en las praderas de huilles y lágrimas de la virgen, y el amarillo del vinagrillo que cubre grandes extensiones de los cerros.

Abundan huilles, soldaditos amarillos y rojos, lágrima de la virgen, huilmo rosado, violetas de hoja larga, maripositas, vinagrillos amarillos y rosados, colliguay entre otras especies, algunas descritas en el blog y otras pendientes de serlo. Es urgente cuidar los parches de naturaleza que van quedando con el avance de los desmontes por nuevas construcciones, caminos e infraestructura que parecen no tener límite, en especial con una primavera tan corta.

Perennials, geophytes and native shrubs bloom again

With the rain, showy flowering perennials and geophytes native to La Aurora have reappeared, as well as ferns and native shrubs covering broad expanses with flowers that can be seen from afar, especially in sunny terrain and with northern exposure. Among the meadow-forming white flowers the huilles and “virgin’s tears” stand out, alternating with a yellow sorrel, the “little vinegar” that covers many mountain slopes.

Huilles, yellow and red “little soldiers”, “virgin’s tears”, pink huilmo, long-leaved violets, “little butterfly” flowers, yellow and pink sorrels, and the colliguay shrub abound. Some of these have already been described in our blog and others are pending. We cannot wait longer to take care of the patches of nature that still survive the seemingly limitless advancing clearings made for new constructions, roads and infrastructure, especially considering that spring is so short.
